I specialize in Equine Photography; anything from portraits to action shots. My goal is to capture the special moments and occasions that so many people love to remember, even years later. |
My name is Sanna Piispanen. I was born and raised in a small Scandinavian country; Finland. At the age of 8 I started taking riding lessons with my cousins, I am the only one that still rides. I had my first barn job when I turned 15. Needless to say, I have always had a great passion for horses, and animals in general as I have had several pets growing up. I got interested in photography at a very early age. It all started by taking pictures of my pets and my favorite horses. As years went by, photography was mostly a hobby of mine.
In 2000, I decided to take a little journey to the United States to explore the world and learn new things, but little did I know, this trip would completely change my life. I have met many wonderful people and some have become very close friends. Ten years ago, if someone would have told me how my life would turn out, I never would have believed them. I feel that coming to the United States has been a life changing experience. I would not trade the last eight years of my life for anything even though it has not always been dancing on roses.
In 2007 I decided I wanted to get more out of my interest in photography. With the help of my wonderful friends, I am making my way into the world of professionals. I have a lot of people to thank for and to mention a few names, I would like to thank Shari Rosati, Larry Bailey, Tracy Antonelli, Patti-Jean Fraser and Myrna Chapman. Also, Barbara Reynolds, Gina Rivezzi and Pat Eldridge, have been a big help and good friends. My single parent mother; our family has been through some hard times but somehow we made it. I also want to thank my grandmother, she has been a lifesaver. And last but not least, my dad.
I hope you enjoy my artwork. Please, do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.
